"Partido Alto is one of my earliest musical memories. It was born shortly after I moved to London. Days of endless sessions with amazing musicians led to the recordings of the first tracks, 'A Night in Tunisia' and 'No More Blues.' The other tracks followed shortly after. The arrangements were written in a controlled chaos amidst long nights of parties, in houses often visited by the police due to neighbours complaining about 'the noise.' It marked the beginning of my solo musical path. The album blends jazz, funk, and Latin influences. Unexpectedly, it earned me a nomination for the 'Perrier Best Young Musician of the Year Award,' giving me enough confidence to decide to carry on.”
"A powerful mix of Latin, Be Bop and Funk . Giulio Risi's first album was hailed as highly innovative and the tracks arrangements gained him the final row at the "Perrier Jazz talent of the year" competition at club 606 in London. Partido Alto explores the various styles lurking behind famous Jazz Standards reharmonizations. Three tracks sang by top session singer Jenny Howe".
Un disco che presenta l’attitudine a muoversi in direzioni diverse, sia dal punto di vista sonoro sia interpretativo, per dare vita a episodi multiformi, per esplorare, senza timori reverenziali, generi e sonorità.
